Your child can receive a free book every month until their fifth birthday through this program. Look for “affiliates” to determine whether you’re in the target areas.

Dolly Parton’s foundation has teamed up with the United Way to provide children 5 and under with free books in some areas.

Dolly’s Imagination Library may be provided to children in cities, counties, states, zip codes, school districts and neighborhoods. Read the explanation at the site for how it works and it you qualify. They’re looking for sponsors in many areas.

Leapfrog is giving away free board books, and there are two ways to get them.

One way to get a free book is when you become their Facebook fan.

The other way is by going to their site and requesting it, and linking a Leapfrog toy to the Learning Path.

The site says one per household, and it should arrive in 6 to 8 weeks. I assume you can get only one book, even if you asked for a book at both sites.
